The building structure consists of structural steel and wood framing, a stucco facade with several copper domes and cupolas. These plants supply service to 25 Texas Medical Center institutions in 42 buildings. They serve approximately 13 million square feet of space, and represent over 75 percent of the contiguous Texas Medical Center central campus building space. TECO is the only thermal system in the Texas Medical Center authorized to supply multi-institution services. With its convenient access to the Main Hospital and direct connection to the Ambulatory Surgery Center, this facility accommodates the communitys growing medical needs. Patient services available include orthopedics and sports medicine, physical therapy, imaging, blood work, pre-admit testing, occupational/industrial medicine, breast care, and primary care clinics. Physical therapy patients are able to enjoy indoor or outdoor rehabilitation on the outdoor turf field with a football goalpost. The imaging suite and breast care center feature the latest equipment including CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiography, fluoroscopy, stereotactic, and mammography. The center also provides a Starbucks cafe and a community/conference center, as well as staff support spaces including a nursing education department with simulation labs and an employee gym. The exterior is composed of brick, metal panels, and curtainwall glazing for a balanced modern design that complements the hospitals campus. Wolfe Elementary, located in Katy Independent School District, is a small school with a proud sense of its own history and traditions. As part of Katy ISDs 2010 Bond Program, the elementary school needed an upgrade to better accommodate the schools 500 students with room for growth. The project included the demolition and rebuild of the 96,000-square-foot elementary school for a more functional and up-to-date campus. The previous design was deteriorating with stability issues and leaking roofs. The new design featured updated, larger classrooms, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, administrative offices, break rooms, a library, and a computer lab. The project also included the replacement of driveways, employee and guest parking, the building exterior, and all associated infrastructure. Category: Healthcare (interiors) The project included conversion of an existing L2 shell space into a 2,000 square foot Hybrid Operating Room. Due to the fact that this shell space is behind the hospitals red-line, all materials and equipment were brought in from a perimeter window removed for access in an effort to reduce infection control risk. All of the above work was coordinated and communicated between construction and key hospital staff daily with a considerable portion performed outside normal business hours during nights and weekends. In order to maintain constant hospital operations, temporary barriers, infectious prevention barriers, negative air machines and directional signage were utilized to isolate construction from clinic areas.
