Deeply Rooted in the Community

Since its inception, Tellepsen has been deeply rooted in giving back to the community. This commitment is not merely a corporate slogan but a guiding principle interwoven into the fabric of the company. For over a century, Tellepsen has championed various philanthropic initiatives, addressing critical needs in education, healthcare, and social services.

Beyond financial contributions, Tellepsen employees volunteer countless hours, participating in community clean-ups, mentoring programs, and building projects that benefit the less fortunate. This hands-on involvement underscores the company’s belief that true community support extends beyond monetary donations.

Through these ongoing efforts, Tellepsen has cultivated a legacy of compassion and service, reinforcing its steadfast dedication to uplifting the community and fostering a better future for all. Their unwavering commitment is a testament to the positive impact that a business can have when it places community at the heart of its mission.

Our Initiatives

Bikes4Smiles

Nothing is more important to the future of our community than its children. Tellepsen has worked with and supported child-related causes and philanthropies for decades. In pursuit of that passion, our annual Bikes4Smiles initiative serves to coordinate bicycle donations from Tellepsen employees and Houston-area business partners. Through collaboration with the United States Marine Corps Reserves, we join forces in support of Toys for Tots to deliver new bikes to Houston area children who could use an extra reason to smile. These bikes are delivered to area hospitals and organizations that serve and care for these children. Since 2016, we’ve distributed more than 6,500 bikes to area children in need. It is an absolute joy to be able to deliver these bikes all around the city - one smile at a time.

Annual Poker Tournament

Since 2010, Tellepsen has been holding an annual Poker Tournament to raise funds for various causes and facilities in need of support. This event is one of our most vibrant and significant fundraisers of the year. The money collected helps finance programs that positively affect the lives of our community members. Participation and sponsorship for the event have increased each year, except during times impacted by Covid when gatherings were restricted.

We anticipate this event continuing for many years to support the enhancement of lives in the greater Houston area.

Tellepsen Concert Series

Tellepsen proudly organizes charity concerts as part of its commitment to giving back to the community. These events are designed not just as entertainment but as a meaningful way to support various local causes and improve the quality of life for Houston residents.

In addition to financial contributions, these concerts foster a sense of unity and solidarity among attendees, reminding everyone of the power of collective action. Tellepsen believes that by coming together for a common cause, we can create lasting positive change and build a stronger, more compassionate community.

Arriba Pescado Tournament

Arriba Pescado began as a small fishing tournament among friends in 1994. Today, the tournament is one of the largest industry fishing tournaments around. The tournament is held annually in June in Port O’Connor. The event brings hundreds of anglers together for a great day on the water. Beyond the enjoyment of landing a trout or redfish, participants can know that their participation benefits worthy charitable organizations in Port O’Connor and in the greater Houston area.
