This project included the demolition and construction of a new school that will replace the existing Baker Sixth Grade School in its entirety. The new Baker school is designed to support a core capacity of 750 students and features administration offices, library, art and science rooms, cafeteria, gymnasium, band, choir, orchestra and ancillary support areas. The school also includes new staff and visitor parking areas, parent drop off/pick-up drive, bus loop drop-off/pick-up, detention area, fencing, security lighting and surveillance cameras, sidewalk paving, play fields, playground equipment and a community walking track. The school was rebuilt on the same site where it previously stood. Construction required 140,000 square feet of demolition, including the foundation in its entirety.
