The project also consisted of interior construction on a 10 acre warehouse, truck maintenance facility, guard house, fueling station and pump house. The Branch Office was 53,000 square feet; the Warehouse was 475,000 square feet; the Truck Maintenance Garage was 40,000 square feet; the Guard House was 500 square feet, and the Pump House was 600 square feet for a total of 569,000 square feet. The new park transforms the campus's primary visitor corridor, and provides students, faculty, staff, a campus guests a central location to relax, socialize, recreate, educate, and study in a natural setting. Two event structures to support outdoor venues and a new public food and beverage pavilion were added. Grand Hall, a new multi-purpose building, integral with the park, that will be used as an expanded venue for Ring Day, and provide much-needed office and entertainment space for The Association of Former Students and The 12th Man Foundation. Tellepsen was selected to perform a $5.5M interior buildout including new office space for Entergy's Conroe Service Center location. The 23,000-square-foot renovation also included stucco repair, demolition, and addition of a new curtain wall at a critical facility for an energy provider, all while not interrupting services. Category: Education - Higher Ed The University of Houston system is expanding its Sugar Land campus in the southwest Houston metropolitan area with a College of Technology Building that will house the University's Construction Management and Engineering Technology programs. Sugar Land is located in Fort Bend County, the fastest growing county in the United States, and the University of Houston Sugar Land intends to increase the number of Tier One-educated graduates to support regional employer's needs. The three story, 108,690 square-foot College of Technology building will house 10 state-of-the-art research labs, materials testing and fabrication instructional spaces, classroom space, industry partnership venue, supporting administration suites, roof top greenhouse, and research space. The massing is made up of several rectangular volumes extending beyond their first story bases. Each section is clad in a different but complementary material that includes brick masonry and metal paneling, which echo existing UH campus buildings. To play, press and hold the enter key. Category: Office / Corporate (Interiors) Designed to resemble a lighthouse on the Texas Gulf Coast, the 115,000-square-foot office space features curved wave walls, light fixtures that resemble the beacon on a lighthouse, boardwalk corridors, a terrazzo floor in the reception area patterned to look like the coast of Texas and ceilings in the elevator lobbies that utilize fiber optics to recreate a starlit night sky. The lunch room features an open grid ceiling, floating sheetrock resembling coastal inlets, stainless steel table tops along the perimeter, custom banquet seating, and hanging graphics to provide the illusion of a tropical underwater scene. Stairwells feature handrail systems that look like those found on a ship. Port holes and ship lighting features continue the nautical theme. To play, press and hold the enter key. Category: Education - Higher Ed This project combined the existing Student Health & Counseling Centers into one new 31,500-square-foot facility at the old King Hall location. The Health Center includes a walk-up pharmacy, exam rooms, nursing stations, and offices for health providers; specialty areas for triage, procedures, and a future radiology room; and lab facilities and support spaces including an equipment/supplies area with autoclave and linen closets, etc. The Counseling Center includes private and specialized therapy rooms. The building renovation serves as a swing space for academic faculty offices and lecture/seminar classrooms space. The project includes approximately 13,000 square feet of space to be re-purposed in the Melcher Gymnasium pool area. The pool was in-filled and a build-out of a mezzanine area within the 2 story volume of space. This created approximately 27,000 square feet of space for classrooms and offices. In addition approximately 19,000 square feet of unusable space in Melcher Gymnasium and Garrison Gymnasium was renovated to better suit the needs of the department occupying the space. The technologically advanced fitness center is a 35,800-square-foot building which features a state-of-the-art wellness center with over 60 cardio equipment stations. Each station provides personal viewing screens and online fitness evaluations updated with each workout. There is also an outdoor heated lap pool, family pool, water park and locker rooms to enhance community programs. Category: Liturgical / Faith Based The redevelopment of Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Houston includes a 140,000-square-foot parking structure for 350 cars for the existing facility. The first floor of the garage was finished as offices for the church's mission outreach program for the local homeless and displaced populace. It also includes the Episcopal Diocesan Center (headquarters for the Episcopal Diocese of Texas), 15,000-square-foot youth building, courtyard, and renovation of 12,000 square feet of existing administrative offices.
