Category: Education - Higher Ed The renovations and new construction associated with the South Colleges Expansion accommodate growth, reconcile issues of building system obsolescence, allow increased accessibility, and enhance the existing amenities in each college. At Baker College the existing kitchen and servery were demolished and a new one-story kitchen and servery was constructed. A connecting four-story residential wing was constructed and houses 108 students. At the Will Rice College the existing 1955 residential wing was demolished to make way for a new four-story residential wing capable of housing 127 students. The first floor of this building includes laundry, a computer room, and a music room. Category: Education - Higher Ed The San Jacinto College South Campus Engineering & Technology Center is a new 74,000-square-foot building which houses the following programs: engineering, engineering design graphics, biomedical equipment repair technician, and computer information technology. This facility consists of classrooms, administrative spaces, and various labs, including a MakerSpace featuring a 3D printshop, metal shop, and wood shop to allow students to build their designs. The superstructure is primarily structural steel, but there are several architectural concrete columns that required formwork imported from Europe to cast. The skin is a combination of precast concrete, metal panels, and glass. The Engineering & Technology Center will increase the instructional capabilities of the South Campus to provide the community with opportunities to advance skills & high growth trades. Category: Education - K-12 - ISD Tellepsen provided preconstruction and construction services for additions and renovations to Tomball High School and Athletics. Construction consisted of 180,000 square feet of additions including classrooms, administrative offices, cafeteria, and gymnasium, and 120,000 square feet of renovations to existing facilities. The Sports Complex consisted of 13,800 square feet of renovations and 13,400 square feet of additions to the existing field house, upgrades to football stadium and a new baseball, tennis, and soccer complex. Category: Liturgical / Faith Based The project consists of site work, selective demolition of the existing church and construction of a new 24,000-square-foot, 1,400-seat worship center. The project also includes renovation of 14,000-square-foot and a 7,000-square-foot addition to the existing parish center. Before demolition of the existing sanctuary, Tellepsen helped the church turn the gym into a temporary worship center. Once the new sanctuary was complete, the gym was renovated. Other renovations were made to accommodate administrative offices and a reception area. Tellepsen was selected at the beginning of design to work with the design team providing scheduling, estimating, and value engineering services throughout the design phase. The 230,000-square-foot facility houses 147 patient beds, CVICU cardiology care unit, and 6 cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs. Affiliated with The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, the Institute features a continuum of heart and vascular care delivered through a coordinated team of affiliated cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and clinicians.
