< Back to Projects Texas A&M University Aggie Park Owner: THE ASSOCIATION OF FORMER STUDENTS OF TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY Architect: Office of James Burnett Size: 22 acres Category: Parks / Open Spaces The renovation of Aggie Park, a 22-acre undeveloped parcel that for decades has been used by alumni and the student body for tailgating and other outdoor events. The new park transforms the campus's primary visitor corridor, and provides students, faculty, staff, a campus guests a central location to relax, socialize, recreate, educate, and study in a natural setting. Two event structures to support outdoor venues and a new public food and beverage pavilion were added. Grand Hall, a new multi-purpose building, integral with the park, that will be used as an expanded venue for Ring Day, and provide much-needed office and entertainment space for The Association of Former Students and The 12th Man Foundation. Category: Office / Corporate (Reposition) The 2 and 3 Allen Center Repurpose Project consisted of the renovation of approximately 95,000 square feet of the first two floors, elevator lobbies, and elevator interiors, construction a new sky bridge connecting the 2 and 3 Allen Centers, as well as replacing all exterior windows on the first two floors. The entire outdoor plaza was waterproofed as it is positioned directly over a parking garage. Additionally, the adjacent hardscape and landscape were redesigned. Some project highlights include the new skybridge, which was constructed over an underground parking structure that required the installation of a steel platform in order to bring materials into the area, the installation of 160 aluminum fins, which were 35 feet long and anodized to create a feature wall in 3 Allen Center, as well as the two feature stone walls in 3 Allen Center, which are clad with stone from Tunisia, Africa. Category: Healthcare (interiors) RCTX consists of 15,500 square feet of high-end complex finishes including demountable partitions, integrated lighting, several baffle ceiling types and multiple specialty millwork banquettes, walls and curved paneling. The project was completed in 18 weeks while working with the architect to bring the project into budget, and to finalize design elements throughout the initial pre-construction phase. We were able to react swiftly to the clients' changing needs during the project resulting in the team acquiring many finishes that were added during the project and meeting the timeline.
