The students and staff of Bayshore Elementary School were relocated to five different La Porte ISD campuses following Hurricane Ike. The entire community had a high sense of urgency to bring them back together at their own school as quickly as possible. The new 105,000-square-foot school was completed in 10 months, replacing the existing 750 student school in its entirety along with a freestanding gymnasium and a community walking track.
