This 56,000-square-foot volunteer service headquarters with 28,000 square feet of one-level underground parking is located on a 6.8-acre site and trains more than 11,000 adult leaders each year so flexible training and meeting rooms were essential. The ground floor Scout retail shop is important to funding and an outdoor courtyard provides for informal gatherings and events. The building has a beautiful stone and plaster exterior with a metal roof. The two-story lobby features rough-sawn wood trusses and a wood deck ceiling for a rustic lodge effect.
