< Back to Projects Rice University South College Expansion Owner: Rice University Architect: Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas Size: 100,257 sq. ft. Category: Education - Higher Ed The renovations and new construction associated with the South Colleges Expansion accommodate growth, reconcile issues of building system obsolescence, allow increased accessibility, and enhance the existing amenities in each college. At Baker College the existing kitchen and servery were demolished and a new one-story kitchen and servery was constructed. A connecting four-story residential wing was constructed and houses 108 students. At the Will Rice College the existing 1955 residential wing was demolished to make way for a new four-story residential wing capable of housing 127 students. The first floor of this building includes laundry, a computer room, and a music room. The quadrangles adjacent to Baker, Lovett, and Will Rice Colleges were also improved to comply with the University's Master Plan. To play, press and hold the enter key. Category: Healthcare (New | Major Addition) Directly adjacent to St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital's Community Medical Center, the 100,000-square-foot, four-story structural steel Medical Arts Center provides clinical, diagnostic, and outpatient services within the four-story building. The project includes new surface parking for 448 vehicles, a pharmacy drive-thru lane, and a small central plant, all of which is master planned for future growth. < Back to Projects San Jacinto College North Campus Cosmetology and Culinary Arts Center Owner: San Jacinto College Architect: Huitt-Zollars (Formerly Morris Architects) Size: 57,481 sq. ft. Category: Education - Higher Ed This is a new 57,481 square-foot, two-story classroom building housing cosmetology and culinary training and certification programs. The building is comprised of three commercial kitchens, two commercial bakeries, a banquet space, over 200 cosmetology workstations, along with offices for the programs faculty and administrative personnel. < Back to Projects Grace Bible Church Owner: Grace Bible Church Architect: Jackson Galloway Associates, PLLC Size: 62,000 sq. ft. Category: Liturgical / Faith Based Located on an 8.86-acre site in the Heights, the new campus includes three interconnected buildings totaling approximately 43,000 square feet. The Worship Center, which included the foyer, is 12,800 square feet. Adjacent to the Worship Center is two separate two-story buildings opposite each other to form a courtyard with covered walkway connectors. The western wing building of approximately 13,000 square feet would contain large restrooms, a kitchen, a multi-purpose meeting room on the lower floor, and elementary classrooms and gathering space upstairs. The eastern wing building, approximately 17,000 square feet would house administrative offices, high school, and Jr. high student ministry rooms on the upper floor with a first floor dedicated to the nursery. Category: Healthcare (interiors) The Small Projects consists of renovations to the EC & ICU (Critical Care) units. Located in the heart of the current Emergency Center, the EC expansion includes 10 new exam rooms and a new nurses station. This project is a buildout of shell space and renovations to existing space. The ICU Critical Care unit is a buildout of shell space and renovations to existing space. Windows were added to ICU rooms and blinds were added to the nurse station pods overlooking the patient rooms. There were also renovations to the electrical system, doors, and the family lounge. The project features six classrooms dedicated to supporting technology-based course offerings, 14,800 square feet of teaching laboratory space, a workforce conference center, as well as administrative and support space. < Back to Projects Jersey Village Baptist Church Owner: Jersey Village Baptist Church Architect: Studio RED Architects Size: 46,000 sq. ft. Category: Liturgical / Faith Based As more and more families began moving to Jersey Village, a need for a community church began to develop. In April of 1955, a group of families prepared the vision, and in May of that same year Jersey Village Baptist Church officially began. Throughout their existence, the church has witnessed a history of growth and the need for continued expansion. Tellepsen became part of that expansion with the completion of a brand-new 46,000-square-foot sanctuary with seating for over 1,500 congregants. The project also included a choir loft, room for orchestra, music suite, adult classrooms, nursery, education, and administration space. Category: Education - Higher Ed This new 130,000 square feet of student housing including six levels of poured-in-place concrete slab and 318 beds. On the first floor there are several public areas for student use including a grand entry lobby with a reception area, a mail room, a small convenience store, study rooms, a laundry center, an activity room, a fitness room, a parlor (the living room of the building), and a small chapel. < Back to Projects Toyota Center Parking Garage Owner: Harris County - Houston Sports Authority Architect: Prozign Architects Size: 1,000,000 sq. ft. Category: Garage / Structured Parking This 1,000,000-square-foot parking garage nicknamed Toyota Tundra Garage, houses 2,500 spaces, and was built specifically for the Toyota Center. The garage occupies two city blocks directly across the street from the Arena. A skybridge allows guests direct building access. A 50-foot-wide, 800-foot-long loading dock access tunnel starts at one end of the garage and connects to the loading dock at the other end of the Arena. Enhanced vertical transportation systems include two escalators and elevators per floor. The exterior of the parking garage is designed to match the arena aesthetics. < Back to Projects Brookfield Properties Two and Three Allen Center Owner: Brookfield Properties Architect: Morrison Dilworth + Walls Size: 95,000 sq.ft. Category: Office / Corporate (Reposition) The 2 and 3 Allen Center Repurpose Project consisted of the renovation of approximately 95,000 square feet of the first two floors, elevator lobbies, and elevator interiors, construction a new sky bridge connecting the 2 and 3 Allen Centers, as well as replacing all exterior windows on the first two floors. The entire outdoor plaza was waterproofed as it is positioned directly over a parking garage. Additionally, the adjacent hardscape and landscape were redesigned. Some project highlights include the new skybridge, which was constructed over an underground parking structure that required the installation of a steel platform in order to bring materials into the area, the installation of 160 aluminum fins, which were 35 feet long and anodized to create a feature wall in 3 Allen Center, as well as the two feature stone walls in 3 Allen Center, which are clad with stone from Tunisia, Africa. Category: Healthcare (New | Major Addition) The new outpatient center provides comprehensive patient care under one roof. With its convenient access to the Main Hospital and direct connection to the Ambulatory Surgery Center, this facility accommodates the communitys growing medical needs. Patient services available include orthopedics and sports medicine, physical therapy, imaging, blood work, pre-admit testing, occupational/industrial medicine, breast care, and primary care clinics. Physical therapy patients are able to enjoy indoor or outdoor rehabilitation on the outdoor turf field with a football goalpost. The imaging suite and breast care center feature the latest equipment including CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiography, fluoroscopy, stereotactic, and mammography. The center also provides a Starbucks cafe and a community/conference center, as well as staff support spaces including a nursing education department with simulation labs and an employee gym. The exterior is composed of brick, metal panels, and curtainwall glazing for a balanced modern design that complements the hospitals campus. Category: Community / Non-Profit The Blue Triangle is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the 3rd Ward area and raising awareness about water safety through our All Mothers Against Drowning or AMAD initiative. The Blue Triangle (formally the first branch of Houston's YWCA), was founded (1919) during World War I. This basis of this organization grew out of the pressing need for a central meeting place where women and girls of color could safely meet, learn and recreate. It opened at 806 Clay Ave. in the old Masonic Building, under the War Work Council, sponsored by the National YWCA. The Blue Triangle is a 2002 Texas Registered Historical Site. Tellepsen was selected as the construction partner for this complete renovation and historic restoration project. The Blue Triangle was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 2002.
