Community Involvement
For nearly a century Tellepsen has been afforded
opportunities to assist in the growth of the Greater Houston
area in both public and private sectors. Our founder instilled
in us a strong sense of responsibility to give back to
the city that has contributed to our success.
YMCA
The Tellepsen family has served in a variety of leadership of positions, including civic, professional and charitable organizations. The family's
involvement with the YMCA dates back to the early
1900's when Tom Tellepsen took architectural drafting classes at the downtown YMCA. Later in life, he served on the YMCA Board of Directors for many years. His commitment to serving the organization opened a pathway for the next generations of Tellepsens to serve - to date, four generations have served on the Y's Board.
United Way Campaign
Since the inception of the United Way in the early 1950's, the Tellepsen
family has been personally involved in its leadership. Howard Tellepsen
Sr. served as chair of Houston's last Community Chest campaign in
1950, and as Chair the following year when the organization began
operations under the United Way name. Today, the Tellepsen
family continues active involvement in the United Way's programs,
as well as leadership of Tellepsen's annual campaign.
Team
Commitment
Community...it's not just a family undertaking! The Tellepsen Team remains active in giving back to the community too; participating in the United Way Campaign, Day of Caring and numerous fund raising events. At Tellepsen, it truly is all about people!
